Old Stables
The Old Stables is accessible, new and very exciting for us! Until now, we have not had a facility specifically designed, suitable for all, due to restrictions of old buildings and houses, but this cottage was planned from outset with accessibility in mind, set up to be inclusive to all to M1, H1 & V1 standard and assessed by Visit England.
This project has been a labour of love and we have worked closely with the VE Assessor to meet exacting standards,and carefully plannedto form a perfect retreat.
We are proud to have worked with a renowned Lakeland architect on the project, transforming old stone buildings in need of TLC into a spacious open plan cottage with one accessible twin/super king bedroom with accessible ensuite wet room.
The kitchen took months of planning and looks stunning, with special attention to sink, hob and oven areas. We think you will love it! The spacious sitting room, which has two electric recliners for ultimate comfort, has access to the outdoor courtyard garden. At last, we have created our ‘flat floor’ property for you to enjoy.
The second bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath, with its own hallway from the sitting room. and it is suitable as a twin for family, as a super king for another couple or for a private carer. Both bedroom areas have their own exit to the outdoors.
The Old Stables is special with 2 sets of bifold doors from the kitchen and adjacent sitting room opening onto the courtyard garden. The garden is south facing with a peaceful vista with trees, not close enough to overshadow, just near enough to enjoy.
This sensory garden is private with planting specially chosen to entice the senses, through sound, scent and feel. An attractive water feature adds to the sound of buzzing bees on the lavender. The garden with “easy travel” resin gravel, is elevated from the land beyond; the National Garden Scheme gardens of Fawley House. With our increasing summer temperatures, we have provided a covered shady area next to the parking for sitting out of the sun and heat.
The drive-in secure garage for 2 cars, is near the front door and the garden.
